FBR almost always has a lack of foster home space, and therefore regretfully cannot serve every single Boxer dog in Florida who is displaced. We devised this page as a way for the public to be notified of additional Boxer dogs in need, but FBR does not get involved with behavior evaluations, health checks, vaccinations, etc. You, as the adopter, must understand from the family and the dog's records, what health or behavioral issues may exist.  Florida Boxer Rescue, Inc. does not charge a fee to the family to list the dog here or to the adopter who "adopts" the dog. We do not advocate offering pets for free, but it is ultimately up to each individual family whether they will charge a fee to the new person acquiring the dog (it's best for the dog if he comes with a fee because it helps to weed out people who acquire unwanted pets for use in dog fighting rings or who sell to animal testing facilities, etc... ).

Though the Boxers on this page remain with their families and do not enter our rescue program, we still care very much about the dog's well being and fate. That is why we allow descriptions to be posted here, in hopes that we can help a Boxer find a better home than if the family were to just give the dog away or take him to a shelter.

You must fill out this form if interested in a dog on this page and indicate which dog you are interested in, by providing his corresponding OS#.

Holly

Comments from human:

My actual name is Holly Precious Mistletoe. I am a truly precious little darling!  I'm Fawn, about 48 pounds, and was born on 11-5-2005. I am completely up to date on shots (March 08) and have had a dental cleaning (Jan 08).  I'm crate trained  (but it isn't my favorite place) and am housebroken.  I walk well on a leash and am alert and protective during walks. I LOVE children and am even friendly to cats.  I do chase lizards and will run right through your garden, even if it is a container garden. I love to play and chase balls and can jump straight up and look over a 6 foot fence.  I have previously lived with two other dogs and a cat, and was a bit food aggressive with the other dogs so would have to be fed separately.  I'm in Orlando...come see me, okay?

Heckleberry Hound  (Heck)

Comments from human:

Heck has been in a few homes already in his short life. He is a typical 2 yr old Boxer boy: silly, sweet, and full of personality.  He gets along with other dogs big or small, cats and kids.  Heck is a vocal boy who likes to "talk" to get your attention.  He has been learning commands and catches on quickly.  He does pull when on a leash but an obedience class would help with that as well as being the perfect opportunity to bond with his new (and hopefully final) family.

Chelsea Jane

Comments from human:

Chelsea Jane is a beautiful, fun loving Boxer who is 6 yrs young. She loves to be around people and other dogs and is good with cats and kids.  She is very active and enjoys playing at the beach.  Her favorite toys are tug ropes and her deflated soccer ball.  If you buy her a new one, it will be deflated in minutes!  Chelsea needs a home with a fenced in yard, where she will get lots of attention and exercise.  She cannot be crated at this time and requires a family where someone is home most of the time and is willing to help Chelsea overcome her considerable anxiety when left alone. She is located in Ft. Myers.
