Comments from foster home:

Bubba came to FBR from another animal welfare group. He is generally a great dog and pretty laid back. He is a little rambunctious on leash but is very quick to respond to correction. Bubba knows how to sit and he will lay down and pretty much stay down on command. He is very food motivated. Bubba's been around cats and other dogs with no problem. He is crate trained and housebroken but needs a foster home. Can you help?

Sadie was pulled from the Animal Welfare League in Port Charlotte. She just arrived in her

foster home so more info will follow.

Foster Home Update 4/7/08:

Sadie asked me to tell you a few more things about her as she is too sad to tell you herself.  She is sad because she thinks no one wants her and we don’t know why.  Someone said it could be because of her cute yet quirky tongue and that you might be thinking she is a heavy drooler.  Well I can tell you she is not.  She does make a little more mess at the water bowl but she never drools.  Sadie also only gives kisses when allowed and they are very dry kisses so she does not slobber all over you.  She loves children, and had the opportunity to play and interact with a bunch this past weekend and she was in her glory.  Now Sadie did tend to give kisses to the kiddies because they were just too cute and she just wanted to say in her own way that she was happy to have new friends.

Sadie is very well behaved and doesn’t jump up on you - ever.  She "asks" for permission before trying to get in the bed at night.  She happily goes into her crate when you go out and she has never chewed anything in my house.! She gets along with other dogs and cats and of course children.  Sadie doesn’t dig in the yard and is fully housetrained.  You couldn’t ask for a more perfect little girl!!!!!! Seriously!

She is very playful for a 5 year old Boxer and LOVES to be in the yard playing and romping with her foster siblings.  I do have to tell you that she has an old injury on her knee that the vet thinks went untreated at the time and now some arthritis has developed in there.  All this means is that she would need to be on a joint supplement.  It doesn’t stop her from trying to keep up with the little ones and she doesn’t show any signs of being in pain other then she will just lift the leg sometimes and not use it.  But don’t let this stop you from considering her. She is such a sweet, wonderful girl that just needs to find that family to love her forever and ever.  The small amount those supplements will cost you will come back 10 fold in the love you will get from Sadie.  There is a family out there that will consider themselves the luckiest family because they will have the true joy of having Sadie in their lives.

Comments from foster home:

Hi, this is Luke here.  I am a single, happy, handsome, fun loving Boxer that is just looking for my forever home.  I have moved around a lot, so I am hoping to find a loving family that has another dog like me that I can look up to and play with.  I have just started to learn how to do some of the things that other Boxers like to do such as jumping and pouncing around the yard, chewing on bones and of course playing  chase & keep away with the toys.  Boy is that fun! Sometimes I do the chasing and sometimes I am the one getting chased.

Since moving in with my foster family I have learned to give lots of Boxer wiggles and kisses.  And boy do I enjoy that.  Each morning I have to go around the house and give everyone my special "good morning loving."  When I first moved in I was a little sick and underweight but boy how that has changed.  I am now feeling great and looking wonderful. Check out my pictures.  I am now stronger and healthier and my foster Mom says that I am  a little piggy just like my foster brother.  I now can keep up with my older foster brother and really love to run with him out in the yard.  I have really enjoyed staying with everyone here but now I want to have a home to call my own.  My foster Mom says that I will make a wonderful addition to any Boxer-suited family and that I am a very good boy.  Now my foster Mom would like to tell you a few things about me:

Even though we do not know everything that Luke has been through we are sure that he has experienced rough times but has come out of it with his "Boxer Spirit" still in place.  Luke will need to have a very understanding family that will work with him and understand that he may have been abused before he came into our rescue group.  Sometimes he still gets a little spooked and needs some reassurance.   He is a very smart boy that will need to have some training but will also need a lot of loving and understanding from his new family.  If you would like to be his forever home please come and meet him.

Name:  Bailey

Age: 12 - 16 months

Gender: Male

Coloring: Fawn

Weight:  45 lbs

Kids: Unknown  Cats: No Dogs: Ok

Adoption Status: Adopted 4/28/08

Posted to website:  1/30/08  Dog Number:  F08-025

Location:   Iris M.  is contact

Comments from foster home:

Bailey is a gorgeous, but sick little boy right now. He was pulled from Orange County Animal Control on January 26, 2008 and unfortunately must undergo heartworm treatment and be neutered before he can go to his forever home.  He is also being treated for a very bad case of kennel cough right now, and needs to put on quite a bit if weight before he is able to have his heartworm treatment.  Even as sick as poor little Bailey is right now, he is a complete lovebug!  He loves to cuddle in a warm blanket with his foster mommy on the couch, and is really enjoying the constant kisses and pampering she is giving him.  More to come on beautiful Bailey boy soon, as his foster mommy gets to know him better.

UPDATE 2/8/08:

Bailey is doing so well in his foster home!  His foster mommy knew he was feeling better when she started to notice him wagging his little "nubbin" every time she walked in the room!  His kennel cough is finally gone, and he is packing on the pounds just like the vet told him to!  Bailey had a checkup yesterday, and the vet said that he should be well enough to begin heartworm treatment within the next couple of weeks.

Bailey is such a sweet, calm little boy.  He loves to play with his fur brother, and REALLY loves to cuddle with his foster mommy on the couch and watch tv with her every chance he gets.  More updates to come after his heartworm treatment.

UPDATE 2/21/08:

Bailey started his heartworm treatment on Monday, February 18, and has had two treatments this week.  He has developed a fever, so the nice vet is keeping him a couple extra days before sending him home, just to keep an eye on him.  Bailey doesn't seem to mind all of the attention he is getting, and rumor has it the entire staff at the vet's office has fallen head over heels in love with him!  The vet said that he will need several weeks of rest so that he can fully recover from these icky heartworms, so Bailey cannot have visitors for about 6 more weeks or so.

Comments from foster home:

My name is Macie.

I am the sweetest Boxer you'll ever meet.

I do not get on the furniture unless invited.

So by your bedside I will sleep

all night long without even a peep.

I am house trained so I go out in the morn and then I come in to go back to sleep.

I don't ever need a crate

as I am well mannered for you while I wait.

I turn circles every time you talk

Pull out the leash and together we will walk.

I live for a game of frisbee and I might be petite

but I can catch air up to 5 feet!!

No obstacle stands in my way so I can drop it at your feet.

I can even "sit," "shake" and "speak."

(My foster mom thinks I must have had some formal training.)

I can't wait for the next frisbee throw

but my fur mom says I'll have to wait awhile while I grow.

I have heartworms so there will be a delay as to when we meet

but I know my new furever home will be really neat!

I am working on leaving the cat alone

so maybe there will be no kitties in my new home.

I have a lot of energy so with a fur friend I can play

but don't worry I obey and do whatever you say.

I don't want to make a mistake so I am a little nervous around other dogs until I get to know them and they become a part of my world.

I love all humans of any age.

I would be a complete joy to someone as an only

I need all the love I can get

my road has been so long and lonely.

UPDATE 12/23/07:

Macie is recovering well from her heartworm treatment. She is gaining lots of weight and loves to eat. She looks up to her adult humans that care for her and she needs lots of attention and reassurance that she is safe and loved. Macie will do better in a home with older children. She is very alert of her surroundings. She loves to crawl in your lap to snuggle for a nap. She is a very smart girl and obeys very well. Macie only needs to be corrected one time. She loves to play games and "talks" to you to get your attention. She loves to eat and can't wait to take walks. She would do very well in a  home with one other dog to keep her busy even though she is fitting in very well with her two fur friends. She needs a home with lots of love where she can find her place and fit in perfectly fur-ever.

Comments from foster home:

Rocker's humans surrendered him to FBR as their daughter developed severe allergies to dogs.  He is a wonderful boy who grew up with small children and another mix breed dog.  He his house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is a typical wiggly Boxer boy ( very social and well behaved ). Rocker is not currently up to date on medical care, but will be visiting the vet this week.  More information soon as the foster home gets to know him better.

Comments from foster home:

Hannah is as cute as she looks and very soft!  She loves people and is having so much fun playing with her two foster brothers who show her the ropes (Hannah is without the ability to hear).  That doesn't stop her from learning, loving and giving big Boxer kisses.  She would do best in a home with another dog to be her ears for her.  Hannah is crate trained, housebroken, and looking for a special home that is worthy of her.

She gets along great with my two males dogs (Ty, a Boxer and Bo, our yellow lab).  She follows them outside and knows where the poop yard is.  She is a little weary of the pool.  Hannah is a sweet little girl and definitely a puppy at heart.  With a little training and discipline, she will make the best dog ever.  She loves to sit in your lap.

UPDATE 3/4/08:

Hannah is making herself right at home and is such a good girl.  She is getting used to going by the pool and making a track of dirt around it with our other dogs.  She and my other Boxer Ty are the best of friends, or should I say "boy and girlfriend."  They are so cute together.

Lady is an adorable Boxer girl.  She lost her home due to the financial hardship her human was experiencing. She is all Boxer puppy but will settle down to cuddle whenever you're ready.  She is looking for lots of love and attention and just a little direction to let her know how to become a "lady."  She will be ready to Boxer wiggle her way into her forever home after she is spayed.

Mickey is new to rescue and arrived to our group when his human was deployed for military service.  He's a handsome boy and is very strong. Mickey is in his foster home where he needs to work on leash manners and the common Boxer behavior of jumping up while greeting people. He would surely enjoy a new forever home soon. Comments from foster home:

Hi, I'm Bob! I don't need a bigger name 'cause my gentle self speaks just who I am (so grateful to meet you, so grateful to be in FBR). I had a hard start and I'm just learning how great life can be (I was pulled from Hillsborough Animal Control). I'm not the biggest Boxer you'll ever meet, but I'm the biggest grateful Boxer you will ever meet.  I'm so calm and gracious of this new found wonder that being loved, is.

I'm being treated for heartworms so it'll be a few weeks before I can go to my forever home. I hope you'll wait for me.   I'm so good, so calm and just love being loved.  This is really cool. I walk so well on a leash...yeah buddy, I want to learn to surf I'm so steady!  I'm your best pal for sure.

More to come as I get to know all my foster siblings that are letting me sleep on their most comfy bed as my foster Mom types.  I'm loving this heaven and can't wait to meet my forever home.

Call me, I'll text you back...ha...but they tell me my life is about to get that good...if only I knew what they meant...but I'm starting to understand.

Hugs and tails a'wagging ( I have my natural tail!),

Bob

UPDATE 4/3/08:

Hi, it's me Bob and I'm all done with my HW treatment and ready to go home!   Here are a few new pictures of me, lounging poolside.  My life sure has gotten better, it's just missing you, my forever family!!

I adore my Boxer siblings, both the boys and the girls.  I'm the more mellow of all of us, just so happy to be here.  Did I mention I'm ready to go to my new home?  Did you text yet?  Call me...

I'm crate and house trained, love other dogs for company when introduced properly and am just a tail wagging happy boy.   Although there are no little kids in my foster house, there are some in my neighborhood and they are so cool.  My foster home has a zillion teens coming and going and they are so fun to have around (keeps it exciting and they all adore me).

Hope you like my new pictures as I'm waiting for your call.  I'm such a good boy, I know you'll be calling soon.  Yeah!

Love,

Bob

Comments from foster home:

Hi my name is Tebo.  I was pulled from the Polk County Animal Shelter the day after Ruff.  I wasn't in as bad a shape as he was, but I've definitely seen better days.  I was about 20 pounds under weight with fleas and allergies on my paws.  I was even chewing on my paws from the stress of the shelter.  Ever since I've been in my foster home I have thrived.  Turns out I am very playful, loving, and I LOVE TO EAT.  I have not chewed or jumped on any furniture and I've become best buddies with my foster sister and the two kids I'm living with.  So far I listen to my foster mommy really well.  I know "sit," "stay," "down," and sometimes "shake!"  I even come to her most of the time when she calls me.  My leash-walking skills still need some work but they are getting better as I was nervous around this new neighborhood.

Comments from foster home:

I just wanted to tell you I'm new in town.  I act like a puppy even though I'm 3

years old.  I love going for walks and car rides, and I adore people.

I am housetrained, (really don't care for the crate), and walk

well on a leash.  I know "sit," "stay," "down" and "paw."

Other dogs are my friends but I do not like cats.

Come on over and meet me, okay?

UPDATE 1/3/08:

So far Walter is settling in.  He is not quite crate trained yet, even though I have been able to leave him for several hours and he's fine when I return.  It is sometimes a challenge getting him in the crate because he does resist. Walter's new family will have to work with him as he tends to roam the house looking for things to get into.  He's lovable and completely potty trained. He needs a loving yet firm guardian who has the desire and commitment to help Walter become the best Boxer dog he can be. He will benefit from learning his place in your family through positive reinforcement training. Walter understands "stop," "stay," and "sit."  I cannot say how he would behave around children. He has gained a lot of weight and looks beautiful.  He even enjoyed a bath last week. Walter likes to walk on a leash and take car rides.

Comments from foster home:

Junebug came to FBR after Sumter County Animal Services raided a puppymill and seized multiple Boxers being used as breeding machines. She is a sweet girl who will require time to be nourished and gain her strength back before she can be spayed.  Junebug is so happy to be in a loving environment! Check back for more on Junie soon.

UPDATE 1/21/08:

I need to tell you my story and I am sorry if it makes you cry, but I too am crying and you will soon read why.

I came into rescue after Sumter County raided the puppymill where I was working and barely living.  I was nothing but a way for people to make money by using me as a breeding machine.  I put out litter after litter with no thought of how it affected me.  I have lost count of all the litters I have had in my life.  I am almost 6 years old and was still being bred repeatedly, for pups.

I was malnourished, full of worms and pregnant when I was seized from the puppymill.  You can see by my picture that I was terribly underweight and neglected so when I had my babies I couldn’t nourish them the way a momma should.  My milk was no good because I was so sick.  The shelter called FBR for help when I had my babies and many dedicated rescue volunteers stayed up all day and night feeding my babies by hand every two hours.  Sadly though, in just one night I lost 3 of my babies.  The very next night I lost another 2.  That left me with one little baby who the FBR volunteers and veterinarians tried so hard to help save. They named him Waffles and my many foster mommies fed him and loved on both of us, 'round the clock but my last pup wasn't doing well. I hoped he could just hang on, but he didn't survive either.

I am a loving mom with no babies to care for.  I know FBR did all they could, but I am still so heartbroken and want my babies back.  I keep searching the house in hopes of finding them and when I can’t find them, I am in such despair. So many people don’t realize how bad puppymills are and that when you buy dogs from pet stores those cute little puppies came from a hard-working, neglected adult dog like me.

With the help of FBR I now have plenty to eat and am getting the love, attention and medical care needed to be healthy.   My rough life is evident all over my body with little scars, sore spots and premature gray in my muzzle.  I am very sweet and have lots of kisses for those who have shown me kindness.  I need time to recover from losing my pups and I am not sure right now about sharing attention with other dogs so we are taking introductions slowly.  I have not had any accidents in the house and I walk well on a leash.  My foster mom is going to work with me on crating.

Please look deep into your heart and give me the second chance I've surely earned. Like so many Boxers in FBR, I too require expensive vet care to help me regain my health so I can be adopted.  If you would be so kind as to make a donation to help with that care I would really appreciate it.

I am happy to be free from my former life (if you could even call it that). I do look forward to being adopted by someone who will show me kindness and love for the rest of my life.

UPDATE 1/31/08:

Junebug is recovering well after losing her litter of pups.  She is very friendly and gentle with people and did very well today on her first visit to the dog park.  She does much better with the smaller dogs as she really doesn’t know how to play so she just likes to run around and sniff EVERYTHING.  She is completely house and crate trained.  She even will sleep in the crate at night if she has to.  Junebug is just starving for love and affection from a family.   She is a sweet little angel of a dog and would be the perfect dog for someone that will need her as much as she needs you.  She doesn’t know how to play with toys or even chew on any bones.   She eats her dog food and a few treats but other than that she has shown no interest in chewing anything.

UPDATE 2/20/08:

Hi, this is June Bug’s foster mom and I just wanted to give a little update on this wonderful Boxer.  She has not had an easy life and she deserves to find a family where she can either be the only dog or have a submissive male around.  She tends to be a little fearful when meeting new dogs.  When she was at the pet store this past weekend she saw an 8 week old puppy and she started licking him and crying.  JB clearly knew this was a puppy and is mourning the loss of her own puppies; it just broke my heart.

She has no problem living with cats and is completely house and crate trained. One thing I have found that June Bug likes to do is play with a small laser light.  She just LOVES to chase the light and run all over the house or yard.  She will occasionally play with a stuffed toy or carry it around in her mouth.   And when June Bug is tired from playing she will just snuggle up next to me and go to sleep.  She is not a barker or a jumper and was EXCELLENT with all the kids she met this weekend (kids of all ages - she was very gentle with the real young ones and just loved giving kisses to anyone that would let her).

UPDATE 3/7/08:

Hey there folks, June Bug here again.  I feel so lucky I have had several people that have wanted to adopt me and they all seemed like super great people that I know will love me but they also had other dogs in their home. It's not that I can’t live with other dogs I would just prefer not to.  I have had it rough (you know that already if you have read my story) so I want the rest of my long life to be filled with all the love and attention that a family can give me and only me.  I would just prefer to be the only dog you will be showering your love upon.  Mom says I am going to be a TV star next week.  Apparently Macho and I are going to be on the news doing an interview about an upcoming Boxer Rescue event.

A few more tidbits about me is I have finally found my wiggle.  I was first so sick and then so sad that it is only recently I have felt like a BOXER.  Now I run and play in the yard and I can wiggle.  Boy can I wiggle! My little butt just goes and goes and I bounce and smile and give kisses.  I really am a BOXER in all ways.

Name:  Pinto

Age:  2.5 yrs

Gender: Female

Coloring: Brindle

Weight:  47 lbs

Adoption Status: Adopted 3/21/08

Posted to website:  1/12/07   Dog Number:  F08-009

Location:   Renee is contact

Comments from foster home:

Pinto has had rough start in life!  She was used as a breeding dog by a backyard breeder.  She was kept in an inappropriate environment and has not had training or love.  We are working on basic obedience (this individual did not even bother to teach Pinto her own name!), house training and socialization.  She loves to be petted and held.  She does not know how to play with humans or other dogs.  Pinto walks well on a leash.  She is trying to find her place in the pack with foster brother and sister Boxers.  I would recommend that Pinto NOT be place with another female dog.  She is not crate trained and will not go into a crate.  Currently Pinto has her own room with a futon when I am gone and she has done well.  She will need love and training.  She is a sweetheart of a girl and curls right up with you to watch tv and snuggles with you at night to sleep.

UPDATE 1/24/08:  Poor Pinto has had, frankly, such a crappy life that it has affected her confidence. She has separation anxiety and we are trying several different approaches to help her feel safe and content when she must spend time alone. Pinto needs to be adopted by a committed and patient person or family. Her ideal home is one with a stay-at-home mother, retired individual or someone who works from the house.

FOSTER MOM'S UPDATE 2/23/08:

Pinto is now crate trained and has done well the past 2 weeks while I go to work.  She can be in a wire crate or an airline crate.  She has enough confidence to obey the command "sit" with my other dogs present.  She will also eat with them and is not afraid of losing her food.  Pinto likes to explore in the backyard and will run laps.  She is not interested in playing with the other dogs yet but has had some attempts.  She does not chew on anything including bones.  She likes to lay on the couch and rest when in the house.  She will jump a 4 foot fence to explore what is on the other side so precautions must be taken against this by her new family.

She can go to a home where family members go away to work, as long as she is crated.  I would strongly recommend basic  obedience classes to improve her confidence and allow her to bond with her new forever home.

She truly shows what love and patience can do for an abused animal and how amazing dogs are to learn to trust again.

Hurry before I flunk fostering for the second time!

Comments from foster home:

Before coming to FBR, Victor had been living at the Victory Outreach Men's Mission for a few weeks where the men had fed and watered him and occasionally taken him for walks.  They were not permitted to take him inside so Victor lived on a chain in the yard of the men's shelter.  As you can see he's a very handsome boy, but could not be properly cared for by the men.  They wanted to make sure he found a great home so they called us for help.  He's still a puppy and enjoyed playing with a volunteer's Boxers when he went to take pictures of Victor.  Currently Victor is being neutered; one visit with him and you know he'll be a great addition to your family.

Comments from foster home:

Samaya is one and a half years old and very high energy! She loves people, likes some dogs, but can not be adopted to a home with cats or small animals. Samaya is crate trained and understands "no." She can be really sweet and she is a beautiful dog. She is crate trained and housebroken. Samaya walks well on the leash unless she is distracted by other dogs or people, so training would be helpful.  She loves riding in the car!

UPDATE 12/27/07:

"Sammy," as Samaya is affectionately known in her foster home, continues to be a doll :-)  She has one blue eye and one brown eye which gives her a striking appearance and she gets compliments wherever she goes.  Sammy is a small Boxer at only 40 lbs but it's all muscle.  She walks well with a harness (she pulls on a leash) but we are working on that with her.

Sammy will need to be placed in a home with older kids (age 10 & up) as she's strong and could knock a young/small child down with her exuberance.  She  has lots of energy and a fenced yard would be ideal for her to burn it off during playtime.

Sammy cannot go to a home with cats and has not taken well to other dogs in her space.  We will continue to go slow with introductions to other dogs but she may need to be the only one in her new home.  Sammy is VERY lovable with people.

She loves to plays with her toys, but be forewarned if you leave your shoes out the puppy in her takes over and she will hide them to play with later! She has had no accidents in the house and is crate trained for when she must be left home alone.  Sammy knows "sit" and "stay" and she definitely can hear!

She enjoys riding in the car, takes baths well, and loves to sleep with the kids in her foster home.  She will usually wait to be invited before getting up on the furniture.  She is a total sweetheart and can't wait for her forever family!  Will it be yours?

UPDATE:  1/23/08

Samaya continues to be a love with her foster family but needs to be the only dog in her new home.  Her foster mom reports Sammy is a lot of Boxer fun in a small package and her facial expressions are hilarious!  New pictures are in the works and should be posted soon.  If you'd like just one furkid on which to lavish love and attention, Samaya is your girl!

Comments from foster home:

Myka was taken from a neglectful situation and turned over to FBR. I've only had her for a couple of days now, but she is a sweetie. She insists on laying right by my feet and follows me everywhere (this is a common Boxer trait).  She is a little shy when introduced to a new dog, but warms up quickly.  Myka plays well with my dog.  She is fully housebroken and is working on basic obedience.  She is suffering from demodex and needs a couple of weeks to also put on a little more weight and then she would love to cuddle up with everyone in her forever home!

       * PLEASE NOTE*  Marlie's recent trips to the vet resulted in a change of his listed age. After exams and careful consideration of many factors including condition of his teeth and detailed neuter procedure, his age is now more accurately estimated at 18 months.

Comments from foster home:

Marlie was found by a good samaritan and after failed attempts to find his humans, he was surrendered to Boxer Rescue for medical treatment. He has recently been neutered and is ready for adoption.

FOSTER HOME UPDATE 3/3/08:

Marlie is a very nice boy. He has adjusted quickly to our home and routines. He is now with 2 older female dogs and was very respectful when meeting them. He was more excited to meet them than my husband when we got home. Marlie is very friendly with men (my husband is a mailman so that's just an added bonus) women, teenagers and little kids. He is interested in the cats but is learning quickly not to bother them. He's not aggressive toward them, just interested. Marlie walks well on the leash. We took him to the store and he just watched people going in and out, not showing any aggression at all and never barked. He is housebroken, crate trained, and is a very good boy. He's clean and needs to gain some weight. Marlie is energetic so an active home with another dog will be in his best interest.

Comments from foster home: Maggie came to FBR from a family who stated she was too much work. Maggie is doing well in her loving foster home and is looking for a permanent family that has actually researched this breed and is willing and committed to raising her properly. Maggie IS a Boxer puppy and yes, she does require attention, but no more than any other Boxer would.

She is a sweet little girl who is petite. She was anxious when the FBR volunteer arrived to take her from her former living situation. Maggie's things were packed up and the family barely gave her a second glance on the way out. It is obvious that she received little attention and virtually no affection in her life thus far, so patient individuals and families need only apply for her. Maggie may have been dealt with harshly in the past because she hits the floor submissively when she hears a loud voice. She gives great kisses and knows "sit," but no other commands. Walking on a leash is also new to her. Maggie is so very good with children. She seemed to light up when she went to her foster home and the children there actually gave her attention. Maggie will jump up, but a quick, kind, correction and all four paws go down. This pretty fawn girl also played nicely with a foster furkid. Her previous residence had a cat and she reportedly did okay with it. She's a great girl and will blossom with the proper kind of home.

UPDATE 2/19/08:

Maggie is adjusting to her new home. She is extremely afraid of men.  Her foster dad will sit quietly on the floor not moving while holding yummy treats and she will now sit in front of him and give a kiss but as soon as he rises she scurries away. It is absolutely heartbreaking and at the same time, infuriating that "humans" through their cruelty, would break the spirit of a dog that is inherently jovial.

It will take patience and time for Maggie to trust men. This little girl is a high energy puppy. She will require lots of exercise on a daily basis. She is learning new commands just like all her foster furkids do.  She does well in her crate and seems to be housetrained. Maggie is learning to play with toys and does not chew on anything except what she is given. She likes to lay with the skinkids while they watch TV but she also likes to play with them outside - soccer especially. She drinks out of the pool and is funny to watch her crunch down to get to the water.  This Boxer will be a great addition to a patient and loving family.
