Update 12/22/09: Amara is a very loving and affectionate boxer girl. She has plenty of energy, but is not uncontrollable, and is eager to please. She loves everyone that she meets, regardless of age, and really enjoys human interaction. Amara is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever been around. Apollo II
Age: 1-2 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy brindle
Weight: 45 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 2/20/10
FBR#: F10-029

Comments: 2/18/10: Apollo was lost or dumped by his family and taken to the Seminole shelter when found. He is a beautiful, sweet boy who has been very afraid and living in a shelter for almost 10 days. He needs to be vetted and neutered. More information will come from the foster home as they get to know him.

Blu

Age: 6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Iris S
Adopted: 1/23/10
FBR#: F09-208

Comments: 11/25/09: Blu was left at the shelter overnight with no records or history. He is very thin with signs of wear and tear on his hind quarters. He is so pleasant and sweet. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash. At present he is living with an elder male, 2 cats, big kids, little kids and a mailman. He's alert and friendly with no food issues. In less than 24 hours in our home he is adjusted and calm and living amongst us with free rein of the house. We are very pleased with his rapid adjustment to our family. He needs to be neutered and fattened up. His face is not scarred or worn. He has beautiful eyes and is eager to learn and please. Won't you welcome this handsome boy into your home for the holidays?.

Age: 5-6 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy brindle
Weight: 60 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 1/21/10
FBR#: F06-033ra

Comments: Update 12/14/09: Hi Everyone! My name is Brody, and I have been with my foster home since the first of November, and I am doing great! I had some dental surgery about two months ago but I am completely recovered! We think I have a wheat allergy, so I have been eating some organic, wheat-free food and it has helped my itching tremendously! I love to play with my yellow rubber barbell and my Pug brother and American Eskimo sister. I am completely house broken and leash trained. I know how to shake, sit, and dance. I also just learned how to balance a tennis ball on my nose! I could play all day if you are up to it, otherwise I am more than happy to just lay on the couch or in bed with you and cuddle! I enjoy bird and squirrel watching from the patio, and I "MOOOO" like a cow when I want attention. With a proper introduction I am good with other dogs and have no aggression towards people or children.

Please fill out an application if you want to meet me!!![more]

Buster
Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 40 pounds
Contact: Angie K
Adopted: 2/16/10
FBR#: F10-021

Comments: Update 2/10/10: Buster has put on some weight and looks great - his bones are no longer protruding! Buster is not having any accidents in his kennel overnight, but still has 1 or 2 accidents a day in the house. However, He's very good about going on the tile floor and not on the rug, so the clean up is much much easier.

Buster is super playful. He loves stuffed animals and likes to steal shoes. Sometimes he'll bring 4 of them out of the closets and into the livingroom before we even notice :-)

Buster is almost done with his medication for his kennel cough. Although he still has a slight cough, he's much better than last week. [more]

Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Lynette R
Adopted: 1/24/10
FBR#: F09-158

Comments: Update 10/17/09: Hi again, Chip here! Just wanted to let everyone know I'm almost done with my heartworm treatments and I'm doing well. I've been enjoying my new foster home; I have a fur sister (more like a fur Grandma, she's so old) but we get along fine, she's just not as rambuncious as I am.....hee, hee. And I have a fur cousin they call a cat. I couldn't care less about her but she really likes to pick at me! The neighbor kids are fun to play with when I can, and I'm hoping my forever family has a little boy (or girl) to play with. And I'd really like a family that has a Mom that can stay home with me cuz I HATE it when my foster family leaves me, even in my crate...I'm an escape artist! I don't like to be alone... I was alone for so long. Well, have to go find someone to lick!!!! see ya later! [more]

Cleatus

Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Reverse brindle
Weight: 69 pounds
Contact: Sandy C
Adopted: 1/31/10
FBR#: F09-210

Comments: Update 12/12/09: Hello. I am a really enjoying being in a stable home. My foster family really likes having me around. I get along great with their female boxer. They say I am a low-maintenance pup. I like to sleep a lot, but if you want to take me for a walk or a jog, I'll really like to go with you.

I am quiet most of the time, but if someone is around the house I'll give them a healthy deep bark to let them know I am here.

I hope you have a place for me in your family.

12/3/09: Cleatus was camera shy but a very nice boy. Cleatus lived with small dogs and he's good with females but not comfortable with males his own size. [more]

Colin
Age: 9 months
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 50 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/18/10
FBR#: F09-225

Comments: 12/31/09: Colin is a beautiful young 9 month old with lots of boxer puppy energy. He has lived with young children but not cats. According to Colin's last owner, he is house trained and crate trained. He loves the company of the foster boxer siblings. More to come as the foster home gets to know him.

Daisy
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 58 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/16/10
FBR#: OS09-037

Comments: 12/12/09: Meet Daisy! She is very lovable and sweet, and she loves all people and kids and all dogs. She is just very happy to be alive. Daisy also loves her bone and her toys and will entertain herself when need be. She walks very well on a leash and is crate-trained. Daisy knows lots of tricks: sit, stay, rollover, high five, and shake. She loves Milkbone dog biscuits. Although Daisy doesn't live with kids right now, sheis good with them when she meets them. Daisy has been with her current owners for 9 months; she was given to them, but now they find themselves working 13 hours a day and they know that Daisy would like to be in a home where she has more time with her humans. If you can provide that home, maybe Daisy is the girl for you!

Dakota (aka Jameson)
Age: 11 months
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 56 pounds
Contact: Sandy C
Adopted: 2/14/10
FBR#: F09-141rb
Comments: 1/8/10: Dakota is back in the building! He has finished "Doggie Bootcamp" and is ready for his forever home. Dakota is a young boy who needs a strong pack leader so as not to reverse the training he has had. He is very well behaved and will not jump at the door, he sits for his treats, and he walks very well on a leash. Dakota is potty and crate trained, and as long as his training is reinforced this will continue. He plays well with our resident boxers who are seniors, and knows when to stop. I believe he will do best in a home with another boxer as he follows my male around. I also believe with the right introduction he should do well with a cat; I do not own one but he shows only curosity towards the cats he sees own our walks; basically he looks at them and walks away. He will make a great addition to any family and he has the cutest kidney bean wiggle--his whole body shakes !! [more]

Dakota Mae

Age: 1.5 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 56 pounds
Contact: Renee S
Adopted: 2/16/10
FBR#: F10-019

Comments: 2/1/10: Dakota is a young energetic boxer with no 'cosmetic surgery!' In other words, she has a natural tail that curls at the end when she walks around the yard exploring. She gets along with her boxer brother and one boxer sister. She seems to be submissive at this point to other dogs. We are still getting to know her and will keep you posted.

Dexter II

Age: 3.5 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 62 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 2/26/10
FBR#: F09-165

Comments: Update 1/10/10: Dexter has had his allergy blood test and based on those results, we know the kind of home that would be best for him. Is this your home?

Dexter needs a non-smoking home with no carpet, just wood, tile or other non-dust collecting hard surfaces. There shouldn't be a lot of knick-knacks and/or stuffed animals that retain dust. His yard should be St. Augustine grass with no Pine or Palm trees. His life-long diet should be grain-free. Dexter is going to see another vet to determine what type of maintenance meds he requires to keep his allergies under control forever.

Dude

Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight:
Contact: Janet G
Adopted: 2/6/10
FBR#: F10-002ra

Comments: Update 1/20/10: Hi everyone, my name is Dude. Pretty cool name, huh? I like it. So I will be quick and tell you about me. I have a baby, you can see it in my picture, everyone wants pictures of me when I have it. I like the cat my foster family has; I used to live with another Boxer, but he passed away. Foster Mom says I am going to meet a Boxer girl this weekend, I was told she is really nice. Foster Mom and Dad take me to the store a lot and I am a very good boy, I walk right next to them, when they stop, so do I. When the want to go, they just say "follow" and I follow them. As long as I can go, I'm good.

Foster Mom here. Dude is so quiet, he has been here for 5 days and he has not barked. [more]

Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 39 pounds
Contact: Samantha
Adopted: 2/24/10
FBR#: F10-011

Comments: 1/20/10: Fiona is a petite, sweet Boxer. She gave lots of Boxer slurps and was happy to get into her foster home. She is unavailable until she is spayed. More to come as we get to know her better.

Jake

Age: 9 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 75 pounds
Contact: Patty
Adopted: Permanent foster
FBR#: F08-191

See my very own video!!

Comments: Update 12/12/09: Jake is the easiest dog to take care of. He just likes to hang out with me or he is just fine with his foster siblings. It really does not matter to him. I have put away Jake's crate, he either just sleeps on his bed or mine. He has full run of the house all the time. Jake is no problem at all. He does love attention and hugs and loves to give big boxer kisses. Jake does require some meds, but is a healthy and happy boy.

Update 6/3/09: Hello, this is Jake! Did you check out my new video? I am the star of the show. I would love to be in your family video too. [more]

Jasmine

Age: 5 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 68 pounds
Contact: Claire G
Adopted: 3/3/10
FBR#: F09-190

Comments: 11/4/09: Jasmine is a beautiful boxer gal with lots of love, kisses, wiggles and smiles. Her former owner loves her very much but realized he wasn't able to give her the attention she needs and decided to ask Florida Boxer Rescue to help find her a new home. Jazzy is one of our new "Flying Boxers", she flew from Venice Airport to Leesburg Airport to her new foster home. She had first class accommodations on her flight with Pilots N Paws and did very well on her first airplane ride. Please check back soon to hear more about this special girl as her foster home gets to know her better.

Jasper

Age: 1.5 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 74 pounds
Contact: Sandy C
Adopted: 3/4/10
FBR#: F09-195

Comments: 11/17/09: Hi, my foster mom calls me Jasper or sometimes "puppy". I used to have another name, but I like this new one and I come when she tells me to. I've had a couple of homes before now and I really like it when I can live inside the house. I tried the "outside" living and I had to jump the fence to go look around...and that got me into trouble.

I like to run fast! I've made a great track around my foster mom's back yard - whew - watch me go! My foster mom says I run like a greyhound, whatever that is. I would love to have a family that would take me for a run every day. I have lots of puppy energy. [more]

* Jasper needs to go to a home with another dog!

Jewels

Age: 2.5 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 72 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 1/18/10
FBR#: F09-215

Comments: Update 12/29/09: Hi there, Jewels here. Sorry I haven't written sooner, but with the vets visits and holidays things it's been a little crazy. I'd really like to set the record straight - I do not weigh 90 pounds - I'm currently at 72 pounds, but I believe I have lost a few with the feeding schedule my new Mom has put me on. I tested positive for hook worms and heartworms, so I'm currently under the vet's treatment. My foster family is taking great care of me. I am a love bunny and look like a gazelle when I move around the backyard (yes I am walking due to heartworm treatment)...I look so pretty ;-) I really dislike crates. My foster mom says I really don't need one because I'm such a good girl and not destructive at all (except the trash when no one is looking). I love sleeping on the big pillow my foster dog brother Bettis lets me use when he's not. [more]

Medical Spotlight Update

Comments: Please check out my medical spotlight page!

My name is Juliette and I'm ALL puppy. Even though I barely have any fur right now due to Demodex mange, I still wiggle and play and have tons of energy. I will need a foster home that will be able to give me medicine daily and probably baths a couple times a week until my fur grows back. I'll also need to be spayed when I gain weight and feel better.

So, do ya want me? I need a foster home ASAP! Kisses!!! [more]

Kaiser
Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 55 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/17/10
FBR#: F09-218

Comments: 12/14/09: Kaiser, aka Lil Kaiser Roll, is a picture-perfect 2-year-old Boxer Boy with all the playfulness and energy that entails! He lost his first owner when he had to move from a house to an apartment. Then a nice neighbor took him in, but it turned out to be too much while caring for her young grandchildren. I told Kaiser "third time's a charm" so his next home will be his fur-ever home! Here's Kaiser's dream family: no children under 13 [he plays hard and can knock little ones down], enough time for AM and PM play and exercise sessions, and immediate enrollment in obedience training. Kaiser does know 'sit' but needs leash training. Kaiser is full of wiggles, kisses and love and is looking for a family that is committed to him.

Comments: 12/8/09: Karma is a very sweet girl. She rode well in the car. Karma is beautiful, but very very under weight and malnurished, and she needs to be spayed. Karma is currently at the vet's getting a check up.

Leroy Brown
Age: 5 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: Unknown
Contact: Veronica
Adopted: 1/23/10
FBR#: F09-055

Comments: Update 11/12/09: Leroy here! I had a super exciting weekend!! My foster mom and dad took me to the Boxer Bash in Tampa--woo hoo!! There were lots of Boxers and tons of people. It was a gorgeous Florida day and we had a great time!!

I'm getting neutered in December and then I'm ready to go! Please read all about me; FBR and my foster home have taken such good care of me, but the time is getting near for me to find my own forever home.

Update 9/14/09: Leroy here. I am waiting anxiously for my operation (well maybe not anxiously), so that I will be ready for my furever new home. [more]

Malone
Age: 2-3 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 68 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/31/10
FBR#: F10-008

Comments: 1/12/10: Malone is in da house! What a sweet boy; rode well in the car. He seems to be crate trained and possibly house broken. Malone can sit and give paw at the same time. He needs a little polishing on his leash manners. More to come from his foster home.

Megan

Age: 7 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 66 pounds
Contact: Claire G
Adopted: 1/25/10
FBR#: F09-068

Comments: Update 11/19/09: I may not be as young and pretty as I once was, but if you want good company and some love, I'll give you lots. When I want something, I just come to you and let you know. If you ask me what I want, I'll take you to the door, food dish, or water bowl. I like to go for walks, and if I see a cat, I just keep walking. I like cats, but they don't trust me until they get to know me. Kids are my best friends...I play in the yard with them and we run and play ball. I've been to the dentist and the vet and I got a clean bill of health, so I'm ready to come be your forever pet. You won't be sorry. [more]

Ollie (Olivia)

Picture coming soon!

Age: 19 months
Gender: Female
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 68 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 1/11/10
FBR#: F10-004

Comments: 1/8/10: Ollie, short for Olivia, lives with two young girls, a cat, and a Mom and Dad who treat her as if she were one of the children. Todd has also worked with the family and Ollie as she needed better boundaries and better leadership to not feel the need to protect her family all the time. Mission accomplished!

She sleeps with the kids, is used to getting lots of love, and needs lots of exercise as any young boxer does. More to come.

Rocky

Age: 7 years
Gender: Male
Coloring: Fawn
Weight: 65 pounds
Contact: Lori K
Adopted: 1/17/10
FBR#: F09-149

Comments: Update 12/20/09: Rocky came to live with me back in September and has been an absolute joy. He is about 7 years old, well mannered, house broken and just a truly handsome boy. He knows not to get on any of the furniture, will not jump on people and doesn’t even beg for food.

Rocky was raised since a puppy with another female boxer until he came to Florida Boxer Rescue back in September. Since then, he has lived with my 5-year-old female boxer, and the two of them have done fine together and love to play tug of war and catch each night in the living room. Although he came to us with heartworms, this has since been treated and other than taking it a little easy for the next couple months, he is a super healthy boy. [more]

Contact: Samantha
Adopted: 1/9/10
FBR#: F09-121

Comments: Update 11/5/09: Rosco has been with us for almost 4 months now. Poor baby. He is living with two old couch potatoes and has gained 12 pounds. He is a hefty 74 pounds now and still just as active. We have converted him from sleeping with us to sleeping on his own pillow. One of his quirks...he loves to growl at me when I am on the computer. I guess he is saying "mom, get off that thing and play with me" He is so silly! He loves to have his tummy rubbed and his favorite thing in the whole wide world is his giant Kong with peanut butter in it. He will go and stand in his crate and wait for me to deliver the kong.
Rosco will be at the Boxer Bash. Please come say hi.

Weight: 78 pounds
Contact: Marilynette
Adopted: 1/1/10
FBR#: F07-150ra

Comments: Update 11/17/09: Hi everybody, Stella Rose here. Yes I know that is quite a name but there is a story behind it. You see, when I was born two years ago to FLBR Minnie Me, my foster grandma called me Rose; when I was adopted, my new family called me Stella. I was returned to FLBR because my family has fallen on hard times and is unable to take care of me, so I am now back with my foster grandma, Lori, who has decided to keep the name Stella so as not to confuse me, but still loves the name Rose, so voila! Stella Rose.

I am 2 years and 3 months old and was one of a litter of seven. When I was born my foster grandma took extra special care to make sure that all of us pups were happy and secure in the world we were born into. [more]

Roxie
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: Flashy fawn
Weight: 42 pounds
Contact: Patty L
Adopted: 2/13/10
FBR#: F10-003

Comments: Update 1/18/10: For 3 years Roxie was in a crate or on a chain while her owner worked 13 hours a day. She had little bonding or attention, no boundaries, little socialization, and no training. But her foster family has done wonders with her. Roxie is a tiny, petite little girl with the cutest little face you have ever seen on a full grown boxer. She stands about 18 inches at the shoulder, with a perfect litle boxer body. Although she is three, Roxie acts and plays like a one year old. She is learning boundaries, obeys and is bonded to her foster mother, likes people, LOVES her fur siblings and LOVES to play non-stop all day. At night she cuddles up in a recliner and sleeps in a crate next to the other two dogs. She gets along well with kids about 8 to 10 years or older, but she hasn't been around younger kids. [more]

Sada

Age: 4.5 years
Gender: Female
Coloring: White
Weight: 65 pounds
Contact: Veronica J
Adopted: 1/15/10
FBR#: F10-006
Comments: 1/11/10: Sada is a beautiful, very regal young lady. She is very calm, but loves to play. She tries to play with the cat, but the cat wants to play on her terms!! She very much loves her humans and likes to be with you, but she also goes in her crate when it's time for us to go to work. She sleeps all night in her crate with the door open. Sada will let you know when she needs to go outside by ringing a string of bells by the door. She rides very nice in the car, but please make sure you spell R-I-D-E, cuz she knows what it means. Did I forget to mention she maybe white, but she hears everything! She walks on a leash and is learning not to pull, she is also learning that when people come over you have to give them space so they can come in. She used to live with another male Boxer. Sada will blend into your home very quickly.

Comments: 12/8/09: I am such a happy girl but I'm unsure of little people. I prefer to be around older children and male dogs. All I want is to be loved and any attention you can give me. I visit my grandparents during the day and they love me, and then I return to my family at night. I am just unsure of toddlers as they are funny little people.
I am healthy and really a sweet girl. Can you take me into your home and I'll show you?

Comments: 1/8/10: Hi! Sanford here. I've been out roaming the streets of Orlando with a small female English bulldog and we got caught on the run. After a crazy few days, I have arrived at my new foster home and am very happy to finally have a place to call home base. I have been super sweet to my foster family and my fur sisters. My bigger fur brother and I don't quite see eye-to-eye, but we are working on peace and harmony. Because of this, if you are considering me, I might show you my best behavior in a home as an only dog or with a female fur sister or two. (We're not sure about cats or children, yet...but my foster mom will let you know in a few days. [more]

Comments: Update 1/22/10: I arrived at my foster parents' house from training on this past Sunday. I sat perfect in the car for the whole 2 hours and loved on my new skin parents, 14-year-old brother, 16-year-old sister and my 2-year-old Dogo Argentino and 8-year-old Lab fur sisters (not to mention the cats, hamster, frogs, turtles and fish). They said I had no attention span and needed lots of direction, but my foster mom set my rules and that was all it took. She says she has never seen such a gentleman. I walk perfectly on a heel while on my leash, sit and stay when asked and NEVER jump on anybody. I even know what 'easy' and 'wait' means. I am very respectful around all the kids in the neighborhood (haven't met any toddlers yet though) and sit while they pet me. I get excited and do my Boxer wiggle, but I'm really a pretty laid back guy.[more]

Comments: Update 11/22/09: Sky here! Well, I had a blast at the boxer Bash. I got along with every person and every dog. I just like everyone. I met a lot of people and some seemed very interested in me, but so far I have not heard from anyone. I will keep waiting for my forever home but in the meantime I am enjoying my foster home - foster parents and brothers. I have a new favorite game that is a combination of keep away and ring around the rosy. I get a toy and go round and round the couch with Hopper in hot pursuit. Hopper usually wins but we have fun. I also love to chase a laser light.

Note from mom: Sky is a great dog. She is still working on her issues with loud noises but is doing better. She loves to cuddle and gives the most dainty boxer kisses.[more]

Comments: Update 11/2/09: Thoth thinks he is a lap dog... really! He gets along okay with others, but he would be fine as the lone dog as he really wants the attention. Thoth is easy and will be a great addition to his forever family.

Update 10/29/09: Hello ladies! Remember that guy in High School or college that didn't have to advertise the fact that he was cool? That would be me, Thoth. Don't worry about pronouncing it, just call me "Mr. T". Those pesky teeth that were bothering me are fixed. The doc says I am ready to play and gives lots of kisses. This guy that feeds me says that out of the 9 or 10 boxers that have been through here I am the most laid back and cool of all. [more]

Weight: 38 pounds

Adopted: 2/14/10
FBR#: F09-217

Comments: 12/14/09: Tina is a very petite sweetie pie who cannot stop the wiggle dance. She was very happy when FLBR rescued her from the shelter. She needs to be spayed and then begin heartworm treatment before finding her forever home. More will be posted as her foster family gets to know her.

Comments: 11/1/09: Sweet little Valentine! She is a petite little Boxer girl that has been a mom probably several times in her short life. Once she puts on a few pounds and heals from being spayed she will be ready to go. More to come from her foster home. She's a sweet dog, but she has a pretty strong prey drive, so no cats or small dogs.

Comments: 12/29/09: Hi, my name is Viper. I was named after a character from King Foo Panda. I am just settling in with my new foster family. They have a small dog, another female boxer and a BIG boxer boy that I just love to aggravate with my playful puppy ways. I am kennel trained, love to run outside and play, and did I mention that I am beautiful? My foster mom says I am the perfect boxer, but I am ALL puppy and need to learn a few manners. I would love to find a fur-ever home with maybe another fur-kid or a skin kid with lot's of energy to play with me. If you are looking for a playful pup like me, just mention my name to Florida Boxer Rescue.

Comments: Update 12/31/09: Willie here again! I am just letting everyone know that I am still here. I am enjoying my foster home and playing with my foster brothers. I love my Frisbee and ball, but my whole life doesn't revolve around them. I enjoy long walks (doesn't have to be raining) and cuddling. I didn't like my pictures so I had my foster dad take new ones (aren't I handsome). So, if you enjoy the same things as me then maybe we are a match. We can meet and get to know each other first and see what happens from there. If we like each other I might be willing to let you take me to my new furever home! [more]

Gender: Male
Coloring: Brindle
Weight: 65 pounds

Adopted: 2/28/10
FBR#: F10-023

Comments: 2/1510: This handsome boy's family has fallen on hard times and can no longer afford two dogs. Zeus has been raised with a female Boxer and a cat. He is very well mannered and has had training by his previous owner. He has lots a Boxer wiggles and kisses for everyone he meets. More to come after he visits the vet.

* Zeus prefers female dogs...guess he's a ladies man!
