Boy do I feel a lot better! I can now run and play! I also now know why they named me Mambo because I dance around when I get excited. I am such a big ham and will give you lots of love. I like to play with my fur sister, she is fun, and I love it when the skin kids come over to play too. I am doing a lot better with my manners but I still do not like it when I get left in the crate for long periods of time, but I am getting better. I can now go for walks and very, very short runs, but I still get winded. The Doc said that it will be a while till my lungs get better because of the nasty Heart Worms that I had.
Mambo is ready for the next big step of his recovery - his forever home. He is just the biggest loving and cuddling dog. Mambo would also do better in a home with another Boxer female. He has always been with one and does much better with another dog. Mambo would be a great addition to any family.
Update 11/2/10: Mambo here, just thought that I'd let you know how I’m doing. Went through the Heartworm treatment well and I am getting stronger everyday. I'm ready to run and play, but my Dad will not let me yet, he says that it's to soon for that. He also said something about getting neutered. I don't know what that is, but somehow it doesn't sound very fun. I'm learning how to be a good boy. I wait for my dinner and go in the crate all by myself at bedtime. Anyway, he said after that I'll be ready for someone to adopt me soon. I can't wait to meet my forever home!
Update 9/18/10: Hey Mambo, Mambo Italiano, hey Mambo . . . Well, I don't think I'm Italian, but I sure like to wriggle alot, I think that's where I got my name. I've been in my foster home for about a month and I am ahappy boy. I really like to play with my fur sister and the kids that come over. I like car rides and going for walks. The doctor says I have to take it easy though because I have those nasty heartworms, but I'm taking my medicine, feeling better, and going to get rid of them soon. I can't wait until I am all better and can curl up next to my new family for naps and lovin'. Talk to you later, its play time!
Mambo will be going thru Heartworm Treatment so we will not be accepting applications for him at this time; please look at one of our other boxers available for adoption.
8/15/10: Mambo just got to his foster home and is now settling in with the household. We'll have more about him in a few days.
