Meet Max Sr. - Permanent Foster - I have a terminal illness.

Age: 11 yrs Gender: Male
Weight: 75 lbs Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes Cats: Unknown
Contact: Amanda FBR#: F10-097

Max Sr. has been diagnosed with a mass in his chest and is in a permanent foster home to be cared for by FBR for the rest of his life. If you would like to help with Max Sr.’s continuing care please donate through ChipIn below.

Max Sr. found himself needing a foster home when the only guardian he’d ever known became sick and could no longer care for him. After living 11 years in one place this senior Boxer was very fortunate that the Volunteers with FBR found a home for him with a wonderful foster dad in only one day! Max wasn’t quite sure what was happening as his life turned on a dime, but he responded to the kindness with kisses and his nub wagging.

Although Max is a bit hard of hearing and doesn’t bark much, he’s a great watchdog. He likes to watch dogs and play and he likes kids too, but doesn’t know anything about cats. Max’s bones are a little stiff but medication helps keep him comfortable. He enjoys car rides, walks and going wherever foster dad goes. He sleeps next to the bed so no lions, tigers and bears will get you…or him. Max is a happy and laid back Boxer, still playful and spry as long as he gets his 11 naps a day. One nap for each year!

Shortly after coming into rescue Max slipped and fell, hurting his back. His foster dad took him to the vet and during the course of the exam x-rays were taken which revealed a mass in his chest. Max is on medication to keep him comfortable, but due to his advanced age and poor prognosis it was determined he required a permanent foster home. The good news is Max will remain right where he is! Max is a fortunate Boxer to have such a loving and caring home in which to stay. Though Max’s time may be short, his foster dad knows the rewards of caring for this gentle old soul makes foster dad the fortunate one.

Special thanks and Boxer slurps to the following people for their generous donations toward Max Sr.'s care.
