Pending Adoptions Page
This page highlights Boxers who are in the process of being adopted or are in any stage of the transition to their new homes. Yipee!
On occasion, the adoption proves to be a mismatch. In that case, the dog would be placed back into the adoption program and you would see him or her on a regular adoption page.
Please do not apply to adopt any of the Boxers on this page as they are spoken for.
Thank you!

Comments from foster home:
Brandy is very confused right now. She has had only one home since being a puppy and now that family has given her away. She keeps looking for them in my house and whimpering when she can't find them. Brandy plays well with her foster fur brother and sister. She seems to have a lot of energy for a 7 year old and runs around the yard quite easily. More to come as I get to know her.
UPDATE 4/7/08:
Brandy is over her kennel cough and is quite spunky for being 7! She runs with my other dogs in the backyard without any difficulty. She walks well on a leash and rides in the car very well too. Brandy "talks" a lot when initiating play with her foster siblings. She can be dominant at times during play but then will let the other dogs eat her food. She cuddles with you on the couch or will lay on the floor by your feet. Brandy is just so very sweet and her fur is really soft. She is ready for her forever home. Please consider this great girl for a new companion.

Louie is considered a Boxer mix
Comments from foster home:
Surprised to see a Boxer mix among all these purebreds? Yeah, FBR cannot normally take mixes into the program but let me tell you how I got here. Someone was actually cruel enough to PUSH ME OUT OF A CAR in Maitland, FL a month ago. A good samaritan called FBR because she thought I was a Boxer. So a volunteer (who is now my foster mom) looked for me for THREE WHOLE DAYS! She says I'm the "eLOUsive" Louie. After days of sightings and frantic attempts to capture me, I was finally found and ruled a Boxer mix. But after searching for me non-stop for 3 days, my foster mom just couldn't turn me away because I didn't look all Boxer, so here I am! I play like a Boxer with my foster siblings and have many Boxer traits. BUT, I am alllll puppy. I have a skin condition and have to be neutered and then I can find a forever home! I love to play with other doggies; I'm kid friendly and very social. The resident cat was not very nice so I don't think I'm going to like those furry things very much. I am very willing to learn. I already know how to "sit," "shake," and "lay down." I'm learning not to jump up, but sometimes I'm just so excited (see, I told you I'm very Boxer-like)! I also know how to go potty in the backyard and NOT in the house. I'm so smart. So, that's me in a nutshell. I would love to play all day and cuddle all night. Will it be with you? I never want to be treated like garbage again. Come visit me if you want a buddy for life.

Comments from foster home:
Jessie and her brother Stretch were former breeding dogs and were surrendered to FBR recently. Jessie is a petite, timid girl. At the vet's office she was very sweet and gave lots of kisses. She will be looking for a responsible fur-ever family who will give her lots of love after she is spayed and cleared for adoption.

Comments from foster home:
Hey guys, I'm Jazz and I'm full of energy! I'll be 1 year old on March 22nd so I don't plan to stop running around and playing non stop. I was surrendered to FBR because my family was moving and wasn't going to take me with them. I was previously crated for far too many hours per day and had very little time to get my energy out. I am being treated for demodex and once I'm neutered (not sure what that is, but they say it's got to happen before I can go to my forever home) I can be adopted! You know what that means? We can play 'til the cows come home! I will definitely need some obedience training. I'm a big boy and very strong and very willing to learn. When my foster home gets to know me better I'm sure they'll fill you in on how much of a great pup I am. Ok, time to go play again! Bye for now!

I am a very sweet boy, and am only about a year old. I have not had any potty accidents in the house, and am getting along with my foster brother and sister. I know "sit," "shake," "down," and "stay." I know a few more, but mom has not discovered them yet.
I am a bit timid, but am warming up to everyone very quickly.

WANTED: a forever home!!!! NEEDED: Human touch!!!!!! REWARD: lots of Boxer hugs, wiggles and kisses!!!!!
This four year old brindle boy is a sweetie pie. "Buster Brown" as we call him, has the prettiest eyes and his face is very expressive. He has some flash on his chest, feet and face. In addition to his good looks he has charm galore. Buster is very "low key" for a Boxer. He likes to lay next to your chair or walk on a leash beside you. He is a gentleman with his food and especially if you are giving him treats. This pretty boy warms up quickly to all people and just loves to have any attention. Buster likes his doggie roommates both male and female, young and old. He does like to mount them but a quick correction is all that is needed to tell him that is unacceptable. This will improve once he is neutered. Unfortunately he has to undergo heartworm treatment and gain some much needed weight before he can go to his forever home. But he would be well worth the wait!!
We will keep everyone posted on this truly beautiful Boxer boy.
UPDATE 1/21/08:
Buster is doing well after his neutering. He does try to lick the stitches, but when we correct him he listens. He and Nola have loved playing with each other and sleeping on the couch together. He is an awesome dog, who is so laid back. Since the surgery, Buster has not tried to dominate by humping. He likes to mark outside while we are walking.

Visit Ruff's Medical Spotlight page to see more photos and read about his progress!
Comments from foster home:
Ruff was pulled from the Polk Animal Shelter and is in BAD shape as you can see from his photo. However, the vets feel that with rest, plenty of nutritious food and lots of TLC, Ruff should be able to improve. Because of his condition he is not available for adoption at this time. More to come from his foster family when they get to know the "real" Ruff.
UPDATE 2/10/08: Ruff has a home waiting for him when he is fully recovered. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Ruff's medical bills. He still has a few weeks to go before his skin heals, so please continue to check his page for updates and new photos.

Comments:
True to his name, the future pet parent of Klondike could very well find gold in this beauty. While he is without hearing, he has been treated well in his former home and is full of love and life. So far he is good with dogs, is curious about the cat, loves to play in water and is fully house trained. Klondike does have a strong will and needs training, but with a little effort, he could be 24 karats worth of "Eureka!"

Comments from foster home:
Jasper needs to go through heartworm treatment. His new foster home is learning more about Jasper but this is what we know so far: We don't think he's ever really played. He doesn't know what a ball is or that he's supposed to chew bones/chew toys. He's a goof. He wiggles as he runs. Jasper is a jumper and we're teaching him to stay down. He knows "sit" and "lay down." He sleeps in dad's room on a doggy blanket. Dad says he walks on a leash "OK." Jasper does follow dad around a lot. If dad gets up from the couch, he'll follow. Even if he only goes to the kitchen and back! Jasper doesn't willingly go into a crate; we'll see how he does when left with free roam. So far, he doesn't know how to chew on bones so I'm not sure he'd try to chew on anything he's not supposed to. There will be more updates on Jasper in the next month.

Comments from foster home:
Yankee-girl is a very sweet adult Boxer. She is full of energy if you want to play but just as happy to lay beside you and keep you company. She is a beautiful flashy fawn. She is in great shape, all 63lbs. This girl knows many commands: "Sit," "Stay," "Come," "Wait," "Down" and even walks well on a leash!! She was just dropped at a shelter with no explanation! Yankee gets along great with her foster siblings - a 4 yr old male and 5 month old puppies one male and one female. She is gentle with the pups and loves to play harder with the older male. She has a torn acl and is seeing the doctor to repair it, so right now she is not available for adoption. But this girl is a true supersport. Yankee-girl loves to catch a ball and run the bases. We just can't let her go full force right now as she is on the "disabled" list but soon will be back to playing condition. She is great with kids and loves to play or lay calmly listening to them. We don't have cats so no exposure to know how she reacts to them. This wonderful girl came to us fully house-trained and crate trained. Not that we use the crate often. She has been left out with the four year old dog and did not get into any trouble. Yankee-girl is also an awesome companion in a car- just lays down or watches the world go by the windows. She also loves the pool and wades in to her waist and sits to cool herself off. We'll update everyone on her "injury reserve status" at a later date. This girl is a true example of all the great Boxer traits we all love and adore!!

Comments from foster home:
Markus lost his home because his humans claimed they didn't have time for him. He is a pretty brindle boy. He is a big guy for only being 9 1/2 months old. He is very sweet and friendly like a puppy should be. Markus is other dog friendly and even ignored the cats in the vets office so he'd most likely be okay with one in his new home. He is skinkid friendly too. This sweet boy is full of puppy energy and needs some obedience training. He knows "sit," but will jump up and isn't completely housetrained. We will be working on all of this while he waits for his forever home. Please consider Markus for a new family member. With training and love he can grow to be an even more wonderful Boxer!
UPDATE 2/28/08:
Markus has really blossomed into a terrific Boxer. We are working on "wait," but he is walking well on a leash and drops items when you tell him. It only takes one time!! He's cuddly and a little goofy, which is a great combination. Markus loves to roll on his back as you pat his chest and he chews on one of his toys. He is a larger Boxer who will probably reach 70-75lbs. Yesterday at the vet he weighed 61 lbs and he is 10 1/2 months old. A good forever home for Markus is one that will make REAL TIME for him to exercise and play, to go to obedience training, and loves a "cuddler." He is not much of a licker, but boy, does he like to snuggle next to you.
