Comments: 8/13/10: BeBe was pulled from a shelter and had several medical issues. Besides having heartworms, whipworms and hookworms, she also had lung flukes!! This poor girl was a mess. BeBe has been dewormed and spayed and now is doing well in her foster home. BeBe is a calm, quiet girl who just wants to snuggle with her foster mom. She is living with a male boxer/dane mix, who until just now, started to initiate some play with him, but not much.
She is content to hang out with Scooby, but would much rather put her head in her foster mom's lap and take a siesta.

BeBe is a good girl when left alone in the house, but is very shy when taken outside for walks. She would much rather be inside and would not be the girl for dog parks or long walks. BeBe has to start her heartworm treatment so won't be available until mid September.

Comments: Update 6/1/10: About six weeks ago I had surgery on my left hip. The doctor said I had either had a bad accident or I was severely abused. The surgery I had is called an FHO. http://www.2ndchance.info/hipsurgery.htm They removed part of my femur bone. This will stop my pain and allow me to use the leg. I may walk and run a little funny, but I will be fine. I am doing great but the vet says it may take six months for me to fully heal. [more]

Comments: Update 6/20/10: Bongo is settling into his foster home just fine! As you can see, he's a long-legged boy that really enjoys an after breakfast nap! And rope toys. Him and Petey the min-pin became fast friends and now neither one will go outside without the other. Bongo's favorite trick is High-5. As soon as he see's you reaching for the treats, or making breakfast and dinner, his right paw goes right up, sooo adorable! He's not a jumper, and he knows to stay back when coming in and out of the house, letting the leader [human] go first. He's crated 8 hours a day and is house-trained. He doesn't give kisses, but does give lots of hugs! Want a hug??? If so, ask about Bongo.

Comments: 8/30/10: Brewster is your typical boxer. He loves to run, run, run, and play, play and then play some more. His family gave him up because they are working long hours. Brewster is a sweet boy who needs some training and a huge yard to run in to burn off that energy.

Brewster knows sit, give paw, and kisses. He is housetrained
and crate trained. Unfortunately, Brewster has spent many hours in a crate. He is ready for a loving forever home...and more play!

Comments: Update 6/11/10: Hi, Brutus here. I'm really enjoying my foster home where I immediately got along with my foster fur sister and two foster skin teens. Even the cat isn't bad now that he trusts me. My foster parents say that I am a smart boy because I sit, stay, and lay down on command and walk on the leash. I don't try to get on the furniture and I put myself to bed in my crate when I'm tired. My foster mom giggles about how cute I am when I sleep because my tongue hangs out.

During the holiday my foster family had a bunch of people over for some food they cooked outside and there were little kids everywhere. They loved playing with me and hugging me. I was really nice and gentle with all of them and I even let them keep their food. The grown-ups were very impressed. [more]

Comments: 8/27/10: Cali is a while Boxer girl with hearing. She is very sweet and looooves people. She greets everyone she meets with lots of Boxer kisses, nub wags and butt wiggles. She is in boarding right now and will be spayed once she is out of heat.

Comments: 8/23/10: Champ needs an experienced Boxer home who can work with him on exercise and socialization. He gets very excited when meeting new people or seeing other dogs. Most other dogs take this the wrong way. In fact, Champ lives with a Shitzu who is the boss, and Champ has lived with Beagles in the past, so time and patience will get this boy in the right frame of mind to fit in most households. He hasn't been around kids and would probably knock little ones over with his excitement. Champ is already housetrained and can be left in the house without being crated. He's just waiting to find that person willing to teach him the proper way to meet new people and dogs. Please, if you have room in your home and heart for a "Pet Project" Champ is your boy. I know he'll reward you with lots of slurps and snuggles.

Comments: Update 7/23/10: Chevelle has blossomed in her foster home. She was nervous around her two Boxer brothers at first but is now playing and loving on them. She loves people and giving kisses too. Do you think you have room for a sweet, smooshy-face girl like her?

7/12/10: Chevelle is a sweet but shy girl that will need to have a cyst removed from her back before she is available. More to come as we get to know her!

Comments: 8/23/10: My name is Cooper and my world was shattered today. I was found as a stray and this loving family took care of me until today. But they couldn't take care of me any longer. So please, can you give me a loving home like the one I was just in? I do need some training with leash walking, but I am housebroken. I love cats - can you believe that - I love cats. I get along with other dogs as long as we are properly introduced.

I'll be ready in two weeks providing I don't have heartworms.

Comments: Update 7/23/10: Daisy is back with FBR and is more than ready for her new forever home.

Update 6/11/10: Daisy is ready for her forever family to come and find her. She needs to be with other dogs, but no kids. She needs a firm leader, but is a sweet wiggley girl that has great manners. She's also housebroken and all that other good stuff!

4/20/10: Daisy is a lovable girl that likes other dogs but would do best in a home with no small children. She is housebroken, crate trained and up-to-date on her vetting. Daisy is getting over kennel cough and is ready for her new home. More to come from the foster home.

Comments: 8/18/10: This girl is an amazing dog. In 2008, she was rescued from a puppymill where her sole purpose was to produce puppies. She came to FBR pregnant, but because she was so sick, not one puppy from her last litter survived. Then it seemed things were looking up when she was adopted. Unfortunately, those people that promised to love her forever broke their promise and now Duchess is back with FBR and looking for her true forever home. Even after all she has been through, she has boxer kisses for everyone and the fastest nub on the west coast! It's probably best that she be the only dog so that she can be doted on as she deserves.

Comments: 8/19/10: Hannah is turning out to be a wonderful little girl. She is completely potty trained and now loves her crate. She also loves her baths and all people, especially children. She is super smart and learns very quickly. Hannah is heartworm positive, but needs to be spayed before she can start treatment. She'll make a wonderful family dog. Hannah is a little on the dominant side so will need continued training and a strong pack leader. More to come as Hannah is treated for heartworms.

Comments: 8/30/10: Joey is a beautiful neutered male who will celebrate his first birthday on Sept 3rd. He is housebroken and walks well on a leash. Joey is crate trained and extremely friendly! He is very strong and needs an active family. He will do well with another dog if the dog is willing to play, play, play. Joey has the biggest smile I have ever seen!

Comments: Update 8/9/10: Joseph, or Joe as we call him, is a sweet, sweet pooch. He knows the commands for sit, paw, and lay down. He knows to do his business outside. Joe is also quite a talker, and he gives the cutest toothy boxer slurps. He loves to go for walks and enjoys quiet moments laying in the sun. But Joe's most favorite thing is to be with his people, whether snuggling and watching TV or curling up for a nice nap.

7/6/10: Joseph is a sweet old boy who loves everyone and will meet you with lots of wiggles and kisses. We recommend older children with this boy as he needs respect for his older age. There are updates coming as Joseph will be vetted this week.

Comments: 8/27/10: Maggie May is a sweet and gentle girl who loves to give kisses and put her head in your lap. She is a little scared right now, but warms up quickly. She is being treated for mange, which the vet feels will clear up after spaying and with much time and TLC. Everyone comments on her beautiful black coloring and her sweet nature.

Comments: 8/31/10: Payton is a beautiful, sweet boy who has heartworms, hook worms, round worms, an upper respiratory infection and is 10-15 pounds underweight. He will need to undergo treatment for all these issues and get neutered before he will be available for adoption. More to come as his foster home gets to know him!

Comments: 8/31/10: Pepper's world was shattered on Saturday when she was turned into Animal Control. From what we can tell, Pepper is very scared and doesn't understand what is happening. We discovered that at one time in her life her collar was embedded into her neck.
She has been abused...

Comments: 8/31/10: Roxy Lee was friendly with the cats at the Vet. She also slept with a cat in a crate. She needs vetting now, and more info will come as her foster family gets to know her.

Comments: 8/31/10: Sasha is vetted and ready to go. She is super sweet and loves giving kisses. She likes other dogs and loves kids. Sasha is housebroken and sleeps in her dog bed all night long. She also likes snuggling with her foster mom in bed. She pulls some on her leash but corrects very quickly.

Sasha's previous owner kept her crated up to 20 hours a day, so now she is gaining muscle mass in her back legs and is doing fine.

Sasha would do well with another dog to play with in her new home.

Comments: 8/8/10: Savannah is a sweet girl who adores everyone she meets. She does better in a harness on walks and always attracts the neighborhood kids who she showers with kisses and wiggles. She's not fond of the crate and knows how to open gates with latches to get to you. She is working on all her basics and we'll know more about her once she settles into her foster home. Comments: 8/20/10: Hi everyone, I'm Teddy! The nice FBR lady who picked me up from the shelter gave me that name because I reminded her of a teddy bear - soft, cuddly and sweet! I'm a happy boy who wiggles all over and my natural tail constantly wags. I slept most of the way on my ride to Four Paws in Lakeland. You see, I don't have a foster home but I'm hoping for one real soon! They treat me wonderful here, and even gave me a bath when I arrived so I'd feel better all fresh and clean. When I came in I met the Boxer matriarch who welcomes all new arrivals and I was quite the gentleman. BTW...I already know sit and down, and I don't pull hard on the leash; how about that!

I have those nasty heartworms so will need to go through treatment before I'll be ready for a new home. Check back soon for updates!

Comments: Update 7/1/10: Tessa was starting her heartworm treatment and a mass was found on her chest. The mass was removed but this has delayed Tessa starting her heartworm treatment.
Tessa will be available for adoption possibly in mid august.

6/7/10: Tessa just arrived in her foster home and is a little scared right now. She will need to go through heartworm treatment and put some weight on. There will be more to come about this sweet baby as we get to know this special girl.

Comments: 8/30/10: Tiger is a handsome, sweet boy who loves to play with other dogs, is wonderful with kids and has a super-sweet disposition. He walks well on a leash, and he listens and knows basic commands. More to follow from his foster home when they get to know him.

Comments: 8/27/10: Trixie was brought in with Maggie May. She is very shy and scared right now, but warms up and loves to be made over and loved on. Both girls were surrendered with severe cases of mange which the vet feels will clear up after being spayed and with time and TLC. I know it's difficult to see right now, but she has beautiful fawn coloring with a black mask. More to come as she comes out of her shell.

Comments: 8/31/10: Turbo is a licking machine! All he wants to do is give you love. He knows sit and shake but does need some help on a leash. He would make a wonderful companion for anyone! More to come as we get to know Turbo better.

Comments: Update 8/23/10: Unfortunately, Tyson has heartworms and will need to go through treatment.

8/11/10: Tyson is a very sweet and handsome brindle boy. He rode very well in the car while providing me with lots of Boxer kisses during the drive to the vet's office. He was happy to meet the other dogs and the kittens in the waiting room, but was a gentlman and greeted them all in a calm manner. More to come as we get to know him better.

Comments: Update 8/24/10:
Xander is the most adaptable dog I've ever known. He's content to be warm, loved, fed, and safe. He came to our home, a 'broken' man emotionally and physically, with cloudy eyes and obvious fears of hunger, thirst, abandonment and pain. It is always amazing to me how quickly a dog will trust again, given the space, patience, and time. There is now a very clear sparkle in those once cloudy eyes, such a thrill to see. I could go on and on, but it's best I let him fill you in.

Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh Boy! I'm still inside the house, amazing! Come sit over here by me and I'll tell you about a few interesting findings. Here I have a brother boxer that is so swell, he protects me and I follow him everywhere. [more]
