Florida Boxer Rescue was alerted to a horrible condition where adult and puppy Boxers were living at an unoccupied residence in Orlando. Our local volunteers drove out to the location and picked up seven puppies. Two males and five females were all living in deplorable conditions. None of these puppies lived indoors or had human contact. They did not even know what a collar was for nor had they experienced a car ride. But worst of all, they never had any medical attention.

The puppies range in age from 5 months to 7 months. Upon arrival to FBR they were infested with hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms and whipworms.  They were also severely malnourished, some had demodex, while others had yeast infections, ear mites, skin fungus, and possible ringworm.

According to our multiple veterinarian evaluations, these seven angels will never grow to be Boxers of normal size or weight due to the severe malnutrition they have suffered. Because of the myriad health issues, we could truly use your assistance!

One little female (Xena) collapsed last night - her gums and tongue turned gray and she was rushed to an Animal ER - there may be a heart problem and further testing will confirm or rule this out.

Another little female (Morgana) is experiencing complications after surgery.

Tippy (not yet pictured on website)  started to vomit up her food - we need to investigate this further with additional testing.

These are just a few examples of the seven pups who are all ill from their assorted ailments.

We could really use your help so these furbabies can get all the vetting they need to get them back on their feet.  We want them to have as normal a life as possible with all the love and attention they need and deserve.

DR. RUMORE SAID:

"I examined two related dogs Sunni and Tippy on August 4th

and 5th, 2008. While these puppies were supposedly four months old, both had all their adult teeth with some tartar, making their age minimally six months. Both were very thin, with numerous scars from cuts and scrapes over their body.  Tippy also has significant scarring on her ears from an infected wound, likely from an injury or burn. She was also anemic. They were both heavily parasitized, with roundworms, hookworms, tapeworms, and ear mites. For their revised age, they were both very small for Boxers, which could be an indication of severe malnutrition considering their body condition. These dogs were obviously severely neglected and should never be returned to their owners."

DR. CAMPOS SAID:

"I examined three Boxer puppies brought in by Florida Boxer Rescue on August 4, 2008.  All three of the puppies were unkempt and sufferred from malnutrition.  They were all small in stature for their age, most likely due to malnutrition. They also had hookworms, roundworms and tapeworms. One male puppy "Yukon" had a skin infection requiring antibiotics

as well as suspected ringworm. He had a grade I/IV heart

murmur likely due to malnutrition and/or parasites. He also had a yeast infection in both ears. The second puppy,"Tommi" also had a yeast infection in both ears as well as a small area of hair loss. The third puppy "Xena" had demodectic mange as well as a skin infection requiring antibiotics. She also had a yeast

infection in both ears. Each puppy required several medications to treat their various conditions."
